Children and Youth

At Friedens, we understand that children and youth aren’t just the future of the church- they are the church right now. We give thanks for their presence with us and the special ways they lead us in embracing the kingdom of God.

Sunday school meets every Sunday from Labor Day until Memorial Day at 9:00 am. Classes are available for children of all ages- from a nursery class for those 2 and under up to 6th grade. Sunday school has regular parties, pageants, and celebrations. Nicole Grogg serves as Sunday school superintendent.

Sunday School begins each week by singing with our minister of music. The Cherub Choir sings for us regularly in worship!

Confirmation also meets Sundays at 9 am, and is a two year curriculum for young people interested in becoming full members of the church. Classes are taught by Tina Wise and our Pastor.

Children are more than welcome in worship! We strive to involve children in our worship life and in worship leadership roles. A nursery is available in the Christian education building, stocked with toys for little ones on squirmy days, and the service can still be heard there. Children are invited to come forward for a children’s message before the sermon.

Friedens’ Youth Group meets regularly on the first Friday of the month. This group is for youth ages 12-20. The group is primarily focused on fun activities and service events. Like us on facebook for regular updates on our next events!

Friedens Kids is a group for children under age 12. This group of kids got together and led the fundraiser called Megan’s Mudder to raise money for a friend and member of the congregation who was diagnosed with lymphoma. They still engage in fundraising and have a lot of fun! This group is led by Nicole Grogg.
